The Brothers of the Fork Inc. (BOTF) is a non-profit cycling club. In 2020 the club founded the Bridge to Nowhere Charity Ride(BTNW). Our mission is to help end chronic homelessness in Winnipeg, making our community a better place.
Each year, BOTF chooses 4-5 local organization as beneficiaries of the funds raised from BTNW ride. In previous years, our beneficiaries have included Resource Assistance For Youth, Mama Bear Clan, Red Road Lodge, Bear Clan Patrol, and Inner City Youth Alive. In 2024, The Bridge to Nowhere ride raised $131,946.16, (net proceeds divided amongst the above organizations). The above list of grass root organizations all work in the homeless sector. These organizations manage to stretch ride funds 4-fold, in order to support our unsheltered community.
We thank all our sponsors, riders, donators, partners, volunteers, committee members who all help contribute to the ongoing success of this charity ride. Thank you.
Resource Assistance for Youth, Inc. (RaY) is a non-profit agency working with street-entrenched and homeless youth up to the age of 29. RaY offers several programs and services aimed at helping youth get the supports they need and gain critical life skills including housing, drop-in meals, street outreach, work placements and more.
Bear Clan Patrol came about as a result of the ongoing need to assume the traditional responsibility to provide security to the Aboriginal community. The concept behind the patrol is community people working with the community to provide personal security in the inner city in a non-threatening, non-violent and supportive way.
Women’s Warrior Circle is made up of a group of strong, beautiful women: Grandmothers, Mothers, Sisters, and Daughters, who are dedicated to making North Point Douglas a safer place to live, whether that be in our community, our homes, or ourselves. With the help and support from the original Bear Clan, Mama Bear Clan has their very own community patrol in North Point Douglas.
Located in the heart of Winnipeg’s homeless community, the Red Road Lodge provides dry, safe, transitional housing to individuals affected by homelessness in the Winnipeg community. Many of the individuals that it serves are suffering from addictions, substance abuse and mental health issues, which is why Red Road Lodge also provides critical Life Skills and Employment Programs that support the recovery and long-term success of the people that it serves.
Inner City Youth Alive (ICYA) provides a safe, active and nurturing environment for children and youth, many of whom experience poverty, abuse and neglect. ICYA provides hope by giving kids a safe place to drop in, have healthy meals, a wilderness camp experience, mentors, and life and job skills.
